For me it was the massive expansion of the money supply facilitated by central banks - that kills people's ability to save and disincentivises work.

When we went from a Republic to a democracy is when we started our slide downward. There is no place in the constitution that says we are a democracy, instead the founding fathers made sure to write it into the Constitution that we are a Republic. To be honest with you, I don’t know all the little idiosyncrasies of how or when it happened, but if it were recent I would say Saul Alinsky had something to do with the finishing touches it needed to get to where we are today. My guess it began once the founding fathers told England to effoff!

England, France, Spain and The Unseen Hand (A. Ralph Epperson 1985), The Rothchilds all had big stakes planted that’s my guess.
