So true. Surrogacy isn't gay but it has been used by gay couples as well as straight childless couples, In completely against it. It's just cruel to the mother who biologically carries the child and to the child itself, so I'm glad we banned it here.

Are you from Italy? I think it's used by single wealthy people more often too. Gay male couples prefer either to not have kids at all or to adopt. Straight childless couples often want their own kid in the contrary as opposed to an adopted one.

Yes, I am. It is also frequently and increasingly used by wealthy single people and couples alike both get an straight. It's true that many people are (rightfully) a bit skeptical towards adoption and therefore want their own kid. Although, many gay couples do choose to adopt.

I an actually a huge fan of adoption. I believe that upbringing is more important than genetics, and also it's kinda noble to give a family for an orphaned kid. It might be one of gay male missions in the world - to adopt all orphaned kids disregarded by straight parents for various reasons.

True. It's a lengthy, difficult process but in many cases very satisfying. Good on many couples (gay and straight) for doing so. While, I still of course think a standard biological "nuclear" family is better, I recognize it's certainly much better for an orphaned child to grow with some people that love it instead of growing in an orphanage or with some problematic or abusive parents.

Yeah, to raise an orphaned kid is also a challenge, and I like challenges.

I overall believe having a loving family even if it's not biological is the best. But I agree with you that a traditional nuclear family is usually better fit for raising kids.

Absolutely. Having loving parent figures is what matters the most !!

With all the kids available for adoption, I see no need for surrogacy. I’ve also heard of a lot of cases the actual mother after birth doesn’t want to forfeit the child, which should be her right contract or not.

Yeah I also never understood an urge for surrogacy when there are millions bog orphaned kids.

But the main point of this article is to dispel connection between surrogacy and gay men proving that it's not gay men who use surrogacy the most but straight childless couples and single parents.

Surrogacy is 100% Girl...

One horrifying example is I read a few years ago that one of the KarKashingIn women paid $40,000 for a surrogate baby, but $100,000 for a designer handbag. (My portmanteau for Kardashian)🤪

So babies cost less than bags? Oh my...

Disclaimer, as an atheist, I don't support several positions they espouse, but the Babylon Bee does great satire.

Yeah I'm not a Christian as well but usually love their satire too. Not this one though because it exactly enforces this false connection between surrogacy and gay men I aim to break.

Surrogacy as a gay man just isn't something on my radar. I've never wanted children and not every "cultural topic" needs to be in my wheelhouse. Pretty much the same for abortion. I've certainly have never needed to be concern that a one night stand calls me to tell me I left something behind after our encounter. That being said I'm on the pro choice side with restrictions. And abortion is something that should never, ever be celebrated or considered noble. It's worst than being proud you got arrested for DUI. Yes it happens but you should have a sense of humility if not shame about it.

Yeah I think I'm on the same side with you on abortions. I'm for early abortions and abortions for rape victims and against late term abortions. And yeah, celebrating abortions is ugly. It might be a lesser evil like in case of rape victims but it's kinda still tragic, the last resort, not an 'empowering choice'. The ease with which DemoNrats abd Woketards talk about abortions, making literally ghoulish jokes like 'fetus is a snack' abd pushing for abortions on every stage of pregnancy fills me with dread much more than religious right calls for a complete ban on abortions though I disagree with that too.
