Group Identity does NOT Trump Individual Personality

My very good four year old piece for which I was called ‘racist’ and ‘bigot’ by my Woke ‘friends’ on FB.

Identity policies are bad not because group identities do not exist or do not matter. They exist, and they matter. But group identities DO NOT LARGELY DEFINE OUR PERSONALITIES, as identity politics adepts claim. To claim that they do is a gross oversimplification, in the very least.

To claim that 'blackness', 'whiteness', 'gayness', or ‘maleness', or whatever, are the most important features which define the whole groups, is simply wrong and not scientific. It denies individual genes and personality, it denies individual IQ and character and so on. It denies even countless other group identities which overlap with those mentioned, and also somewhat shape one's personality. It opens the possibilities to cherry pick the group identities that matter most for the Leftist political discourse, and to largely ignore all the other ones.

For example, why me being white and male, or gay and immigrant, is more important than me being a political scientist, a writer, a blogger, a nerd, a nature enthusiast, an introvert and a home boy (as opposed to a party guy?) Why certain my group identities matter more than others, and why my individual personality does not matter at all? This is so wrong, isn’t it?

Also, even those identities that 'matter' for the Woke identity politics adepts, are cherry picked by them very craftily. For example, if they want to present me as a victim, they would stress on the importance of me being gay and an immigrant. If they want to present me as an 'offender', they would focus on my being white and male. How handy, isn't it? I am still I am, but this dirty play with group identities allows them to present me both as a victim or an 'offender', dependent on the particular discourse and their intentions. And this could be done to almost anyone (thanks to the so-called 'intersectionality'), when even white women and white gay men, or straight Black men, can be presented as 'privileged' (and then indirectly ‘guilty’, according to a Woke ideology) and shut down based on this.

But if you look at it deeper, the cases of 'pure vulnerable minority’ with regard to all ‘sections’ and all group identities (e.g., a trans Black disabled woman) are SO RARE, that virtually non-existent, and, hence, almost anyone can be deemed 'privileged' (even a Black woman, if she isn't trans or disabled, and especially if she is a conservative, like Candace Owens) and, hence, condemned. How crafty, indeed. Bravo, Lefties! Perfect way to shut down everyone who disagrees with you.

It looks even more maddening, when the Woke people accuse the whole groups (like white or male) of being 'complicit' in racism or sexism, and largely benefiting from it (even if they are completely innocent and never harmed a single woman or ‘person of color’). To claim that the primary drive of all white people is to 'defend their privilege' is puerile, degrading and totally unscientific. It denies their individual morality, intellect and knowledge, and reduces the complex personal motivation to a primitive group drive. It's a tribalism in its worst shape, and it's unacceptable in my opinion.

The Lefties use this shit now to discredit the opinions of certain great intellectuals and thinkers of our past as Orwell and Bradbury, for example. Obviously, the real reason for it is that both those guys condemn any kind of censorship in their writings, as a first step to totalitarianism, and Woke Lefties who actively apply censorship with their toxic cancel culture, certainly don't like it. So they want to discredit Orwell and Bradbury, and how would they accomplish it? Right, by blaming them for being 'white, male and privileged', and also ‘outdated’, and, hence, by denying their great intellect and individual morality, and by reducing all their motivation to primitive tribal drive 'to defend their privilege'. How crafty indeed, Lefties.

Funny enough, French intellectual of the past Michel Foucault, who was also 'white, male and privileged', somehow is not 'outdated', and not acted primarily 'to defend his privilege'. Perhaps because the whole Woke Leftist modern ideology grows from his writing and he's convenient for the Woke Left, hence his group identities don't matter, unlike with Orwell and Bradbury? So much for the huge hypocrisy of the Left. As I am always to say, if the regressive Woke Left didn't have a double standard, they wouldn't have any, indeed.
