Another my three year old post which proved prescient now - Why Climate Agenda lures so many young people and teens, and why is it very Dangerous.
It's no secret that climate activism in the West is young people's activism. A modern climate icon Greta Thurnberg was a lil schoolgirl when she began her activism (to be ruthlessly used by shameless elites in their climate propaganda later). Extinction Rebellion ‘climate protesters' are predominantly teens as well.
Overall, the demographics of the climate activists tends to favor young people. Some may argue that it's because young generation is 'more progressive' and hence picks up this issue. Others would add to it that because young people are to live in this world which their parents left them so fucked up climate wise, they care of it so much. It may even be so but it's certainly not all of it. I would argue for another, not so flattering reasons why so many young people are caught in climate activism and why it isn't that great.
First of all, the young people are much more naive and gullible than older generations. Push them any bullshit behind the noble slogans, and they'd swallow it whole. So, you can basically demand any sacrifices and any restrictions, however crazy and unscientific, from them if you'd make them believe it's 'for our planet', and the latter is pretty easy to do as I stated above. Another reason for young people to join climate activism, which is somewhat linked to this one, is that they are full of noble ideals and good intentions to 'save the world' but lack any practical thinking and have no idea how they'd actually be saving the world. Hence, they might easily jump on utopian and unrealistic solutions, and mess up things more than help.
This combination - being full of noble intentions but extremely gullible and naive at the same time - is dangerous. It creates a potential for some nefarious players to use those noble intentions to entirely wrong purpose by deceiving those gullible subjects. Which is even worse, young people are full of energy, but not of patience. It might lead to very harmful hasty actions when all this energy would be put into something not so well thought of.
However, the reasons I mentioned still somewhat flatter young people falling for climate propaganda. They might be gullible and naive but they still have noble intentions and want to save the world, hence they are good people. Not necessarily, things aren't that simple even there. In addition to noble intentions, there is a number of less noble and more selfish reasons to fall for climate agenda.
First, to stroke one's ego, ofc. After all, who doesn't want to be a hero saving a planet from inevitable doom? There's a potential to imagine oneself a character of some Marvel comic strip of super heroes which is very alluring to the young people. Also, by caring of climate more than of economy and human rights, for instance, you demonstrate how 'shrewd' are you by recognizing the most 'dangerous issue' compared to which all our rights and freedoms and livelihoods just don't matter. After all, we'd all DIE if climate change isn't stopped, or so do these people believe.
Well, first of all, there's nothing shrewd and smart about this when all the media and politicians are telling you of dangers of climate change 24/7. It could hardly be said that you came to realization of this danger entirely on your own, and that your own wit and brain played any part in it indeed. Rather, you just swallowed what you've been told.
If anything, it should have made you suspicious why all the big corporations who usually care only of their profit, and all the politicians who care only of their power, and media who are just mouthpieces of politicians and corporations, all of a sudden began to feign concern for climate. Do they really care of it, or do they just use climate as an excuse to push something else under climate cover? But alas, young people never wondered. They are naive and believe everything they hear on TV or read in the Internet.
In addition, climate agenda is branded as progressive and trendy, and young people like fashionable things. So it raises the question do they really care of climate agenda, or of fashion surrounding it?
Overall, I believe that young people join climate activism out of genuine care of the planet, not just out of fashion. Still, it doesn't make it any better. Gullibility and naivete and blind trust to media and politicians never did anyone good. And when you aren't that smart yourself but very passionate to make the world a 'better place', it's very dangerous combination which might lead to a catastrophe potentially.
The younger the person is, the more destroyed by the government school system their minds are, which is specifically designed to destroy their brains and make them dependent on the state for everything, so the state maintains control forever. Reading, writing and arithmetic are no longer the points of school. Being an obedient mind-warped slave is the point. Learn the difference between schooling and education here:
