That’s my three-year old piece, dedicated to the memory of Leftist ‘summer of love’.
I wonder why do the Woke hate police so much that they push their 'police brutality' narrative so relentlessly and so far (even as far as Finland). Ofc, not because police is really that bad - most of the 'police brutality and racism' narrative is based on very scant evidence and extreme cases and operates primarily on the level of emotional sensitivities and not on the data and logic levels. But the fact that the Woke are wrong doesn't really surprise me, I'm curious to find out the reasons of their anti-police sentiment and pushing of 'Defund the police' agenda. What do the Woke gain by it?
I mean, the Woke obsession with racism, race and skin color is pretty clear. Being born out of collective guilt of a white nation, and nurtured by Marxist theories where the Woke substituted class with race, there is no wonder that Wokeness is so obsessed with race, this is the key point of their whole worldview and paradigm. But why police? I mean, if the Woke wanted, they might have found evidence of 'systemic racism' pretty much anywhere else in American society (especially if scant but extreme enough cases are more than enough for the Woke to push 'systemic racism' narrative). For example, in healthcare. Is there is systemic mistreatment of Black people in American healthcare when Black people are overcharged, refused treatment or hospital place more often compared to whites? (funny enough I believe there should be more evidence of that in American healthcare than in police, due to crappy super expensive American healthcare and Black poverty). Yet, the Woke are largely unconcerned by it.
Or maybe there is a systemic mistreatment of Black people by housing companies? Again, due to Black poverty in US there might be as well. Also, it's possible to gather extreme cases of Black people who have died due to medical treatment not provided to them in time, or thrown onto the streets by some housing company. Yet why did the Woke ignore all that and focused on 'police brutality' so much? It's especially strange if Capitol Hill riots proved that the Woke do actually need police as a means of protection of ruling Democratic party and the Woke elites themselves from Trump supporters and just common American people with guns. Then why so many loud calls from the Left to 'defund' and even abolish police?
Again, it's my hypothesis only now, not facts. But when dealing with the Woke, we always should remember that the main purpose of this ideology is to undermine the Western civilization as a whole, and to collapse and upend the system from within. Then, what's better personification of 'unfair, unjust and inherently racist' system could the Woke find than police and the law enforcement? If the system itself is deemed 'deeply unfair and unjust', then the body which serves to perpetuate and to enforce the law of this 'bad system', becomes especially evil. If the order itself deemed to be 'fascist and unjust', then those who safeguard and maintain this order are the first and worst enemies. Taking that into account, the Woke irrational hatred for police becomes more plausible, eh?
Yeah I do not claim for sure that I got it right but do you have a better explanation why police in US was demonized beyond any measure and chosen as a scapegoat for everything? Again, the traces of 'systemic racism' the Woke are capable of finding literally anywhere, with their race obsession, it didn't have to be police. Facts also do not speak in support of this narrative. Yeah, police in US might be overall somewhat more brutal than in other countries. But, first, US also has higher crime levels than many other Western countries, and all people are allowed to have guns in US and, hence, might shoot back at police easily (which they do). So American police just had to learn to be tougher in order to do their job better. So it's not really justified to blame them for it. Also, the Woke push their toxic narrative of police brutality far beyond US, already to Finland even where police are almost literally angels. So, my reason of the Woke behavior looks more plausible to me.
There is another important and somewhat more sinister factor. Police does not only protect and enforces the law, it also protects government officials from possible riots or assassinations. By undermining the authority of the police, the Woke seek also to legitimize riots and violence on their side (hello BLM and Antifa), and even to threaten the government which they don't like (e.g., Trump administration or any Republican government as that matters) with chaos and bloody revolution. Remember, BLM had recently threatened to drench Minneapolis in 'fire and blood' if Derek Chauvin wouldn't be convicted. It was an open blackmail of American judicial system. BLM and Antifa thugs in general now threaten to 'burn the whole cities' pretty often if their political demands aren't met. This is what the Woke are after.
However, Capitol Hill riots had shown that the Woke anti-police and anti-state propaganda is a double edged sword which might be turned upon them as well. I mean, if you justify and even glorify violence on your own side, surely your political opponents might use the gateway you opened for them to justify the violence on their own side as well? And, after all, Trump and Republican supporters have more guns than Democrat supporters and the Woke. Ironically, the Woke themselves might need police MORE than their political opponents, and by demonizing police they might be cutting the branch they themselves sit upon. Yeah, for now Trump supporters are silently swallowing their rage over injustice done to them by Democrats and their mainstream media (possibly being intimidated after Capitol Hill as well), and common American people in general are allowing BLM and Antifa militants to intimidate them.
For how long, though? Every patience has its limits, and Capitol Hill had shown that Trump supporters' patience limits are almost overreached. And, since the Woke and Democrats haven't made any conclusions out of it, and censor and demonize Republicans, Trump supporters and conservatives even more than before, how long would it be until next eruption? (especially on the background of huge economic crisis caused by lockdowns, and new migrant crisis). Then the Woke might actually regret that they ruined their relations with police so badly.
Honestly it's hard to get a clear answer.
Hpwever me being me my answer is.
They can't overthrow a nation that has a police force.
Wokeholes are intent upon getting us to fight among ourselves rather than focus on failed Democrat policies.
