Leftist Gaslighting 'Cite Your Source' Game

I believe every conservative and awakened anti-Woke liberal, arguing with Wokesters and their mainstream Leftist allies, at some point faced this trick from the Left - 'cite your source'. This request seems pretty innocent, but it only SEEMS so. In truth it's a part of Leftist gaslighting strategy. The Left use this strategy when they're confronted with uncomfortable for them information (Hunter Biden laptop, Twitter files, Fauci emails, etc.) in order to shift the discussion from this info to the sources where this info originally appeared, and eventually to substitute the discussion about the uncomfortable for the Left issue with discussion about the SOURCE where this issue appeared. Reasons for this substitution are clear - the Left are well aware that they can't disprove your information so they want to smear your sources instead. Profit.

How exactly this strategy works? Well, the point is that the Left consider ONLY Leftist sources like CNN and New York Times to be 'trustworthy' sources, and Leftist sources due to their selective reporting usually do not report issues which are damning for the Left (like Hunter Biden laptop or Fauci emails). Hence, if you would be unable to provide a Leftist source for them (and you would be since as I said Leftist sources do not report the issues damning for the Left!), they'd smear your sources as 'untrustworthy', and based on that dismiss your information. Profit. If you'd try to refuse playing Leftist 'Cite Your Source' game and decline to provide any sources, the Left would accuse you of making 'baseless claims'. See all the devlish trick of that?

'Cite Your Source' is a win win game for the Left. If you play it and provide sources for them, they'd smear them as 'untrustworthy' (due to them not having a Leftist bias in their reporting). If you refuse to play it and decline to provide any sources, they accuse you of making 'baseless claims'. And you'd almost never be able to provide a 'trustworthy' source for them since again, their own Leftist sources - the ONLY 'trustworthy' sources for them! - usually do not report issues damning for the Left. Checkmate.

You think I'm wrong and the Left are genuinely curious of your sources when they're asking for them, or want to learn more on the issue you're discussing with them? Or, alternatively, you think that the Left are genuinely mistrusting your claims and want a proof? Well, then please do tell me WHY the Left ask for 'sources' ONLY when the discussion is about uncomfortable for them issues? When you're talking of pretty COMFORTABLE for them issues (like condemning Trump and Republicans, for instance), both their curiosity and mistrust somehow instantly evaporate, and they do not need any sources anymore all of a sudden. Moreover, speaking of Trump, you can make any baseless claims of him (like accuse him of raping some woman, etc.), and the Left won't mistrust it and won't ask you for any 'source' to back your claim up. In the contrary, when it comes to Trump, the Left are willing to believe the worst of him WITHOUT ANY PROOFS.

So sorry, I do not believe that the Left need proofs for any claim - they need proofs only for the claims they do not like. For the claims they like, the Left would gladly take your word.

How to Play Leftist 'Cite Your Source' Game and Win

Anyway, should you play this 'Cite Your Source' game with the Left? I think not, it's just a waste of time in most of the cases. Even if you'd be able to find relatively mainstream and neutral source (like Wall Street Journal) which the Left couldn't easily dismiss as 'untrustworthy', they'd still find some 'faults' with it - like there are 'not enough links to other sources' in this source, or its language is 'too loaded', etc. You should remember that the Leftist chief goal when they're asking for a 'source' is NOT TO ACTUALLY learn something, but to disprove your claim via smearing your sources. The Left had already made up their mind on your claim - they're already disagreeing with it no matter how true it is (and they're most likely aware that it's true, that's why they wanna smear your sources and not disprove your claim itself). Either way, the Left had already set their mind up, and no source, however trustworthy it is, is gonna change that. That's why it's usually useless to provide sources for the Left.

If you are keen on playing this Leftist game, however, you could reverse it and start asking the Left THEMSELVES for sources to back THEIR own claims up. Here the fun begins. The Left are probably aware that you won't take their favorite sources like CNN or New York Times seriously, so they'd try to give something more 'official' to you - like CDC or FBI. Now, strike these sources down by informing the Left of CDC being bought by Big Pharma and FBI - colluding with Democratic party according to Twitter files. Hence, neither CDC nor FBI could be considered a really trustworthy source. With this you probably piss the Left off a lot - which is an achievement already - but more importantly you'd take their 'source grounds' away from them, because the Left do not really have any other sources besides their own and 'official ones'. So maybe, the Left wouldn't want to play their 'source game' with you after that.
