My three-year old piece. Spot on now still.
The most alarming thing about modern trans activism is that it's pushed down from TOP TO BOTTOM, not other way around, as it was the case with any civil rights movement before. Take gay rights, women rights, racial minorities rights - there was always grassroots movement first, then societal change in attitudes, and only AFTERWARDS the change of legislation which reflected societal change.
The problem with trans activism is that it's exactly the opposite - trans legislation is pushed down by Biden administration executive orders, or narrative in its support is pushed down by mainstream media. Doesn't it alarm you in the least?
Let's take some retrospective glance. Gay rights movement started from Stonewall riots, and it took over fifty years of grassroot campaigns against strong resistance to make legislation change and politicians act. Feminist movement started with mass demonstrations in the beginning of the 20th century, and it took over a century to achieve any kind of legislative gender equality. Rosa Luxemburg, Martin Luther King, Harvey Milk - all those brilliant people paved the way for our rights. But the most important issues there - all this human rights fight went from BOTTOM to the top, it took a lot of time, and much resistance.
Now look at modern trans activism. It gained shit load of power and leverage for just few last years, and it's being pushed down on us from the top. Biden administration and top Democratic politicians, biggest media outlets and even biggest corporations are pushing for 'trans rights' now. There's no any grassroot movement preceding it. In fact, we don't even know what regular trans people actually want. They weren't even asked. Doesn't this alarm you in the least?
You're kinda supporting trans people by approving Biden agenda but you don't even know do trans people actually even want Biden agenda, or not. And how could you, if there was no grassroot trans movement and regular genuine trans people with gender dysphoria didn't even have a chance to speak for themselves?
Biden claims he wants to 'help trans people' but how do you know he really does? Just in case religious homophobes could also claim that they're are 'helping' gay people to 'repent their sin' by banning their love. Without asking gay people, you won't know what they really want. But gay people had a chance to speak for themselves. Trans people didn't.
But what's about trans activists and LGBT organizations, some people may ask. Well, even there it's pushed down from the top. First, the official agenda of largest LGBT organizations like Stonewall gets drastically changed in favor of radical trans agenda by top administrative decisions inside those organizations, and then it was pushed down. Also, majority of trans people don't actually become activists. Activists are minority, and by which right do they speak for all trans community? That's entirely wrong. Majority of regular trans people needs to be heard, and it isn't heard.
Then, if radical trans agenda is pushed down on us from the top, by media, politicians, celebrities, or ELITE in other words, have you ever wondered WHY? Why the richest and most powerful people in the world ALL OF A SUDDEN began to care so much of the very small minority group of trans people who constitute only 1% of population according to research? You are telling me that rich elites are so preoccupied about well-being of the 1% of population that they'd do their everything to better accommodate them? If you believe that, you're a dumb fool. And don't draw comparisons with gay rights again. First of all, gay rights fight started as grassroot movement and elites accepted it only after societal change. Second, gay people constitute about 5% of population, and together with bisexual people who are more numerous than it was previously thought according to recent research, gay and bisexual people aren't that small minority either.
Anyway, why do you think rich and powerful elites feign so much concern for trans rights? Surely there should be hidden sinister agenda behind the facade of 'trans rights'? Two agendas, to be precise. First, Big Pharma agenda. Trans medicine is super expensive, and trans people are really a golden mine for medical industry. Hence, medical industry is interested to convince as many people as possible that they are trans, and from as early age as possible. Hence you hear the push to give hormones to kids. Hence the mere definition of transgender was redefined to mean any 'gender non conforming' person, not only those with gender dysphoria as before. But that's bullshit. Gender non conforming people are not necessarily trans. They can be gay, bi or even straight, just not conforming to traditional gender roles and behavior but still pretty happy with their biological sex. But Big Pharma needs more people on trans medication, hence you hear this bullshit.
The second agenda behind trans rights is even worse. It concerns a 'non binary' part and relates to erasing of the concept of biological sex as a part of general Woke assault on objectivity. Hence you hear more and more frequent attempts to ban gendered language and replace it with gender neutral, to push trans women into female sports as if biology made no difference, only identity mattered. But that's another lies, there are objective biological differences between sexes which the Woke trans activists ignore and try to erase. And that's very bad.
Overall, both of these agendas behind trans rights are pretty nasty. Everyone who's concerned about them, and who doesn't want to give hormones to kids, or to ban words 'mum' and 'dad', is immediately deemed 'transphobic' by radical trans activitists and elites pushing this agenda. How convenient indeed.
I would say there is a third driver: The trans movement is part of Cultural Marxism, which is being used to burn down Western culture and the USA. Creating more confused people weakens our society, which tilts it more toward collapse.
In trying to broaden my understanding of such issues, I found the short YouTube video ‘How The Institutions Were Taken Over By LGBT Ideology’, with John Anderson and Helen Joyce, very helpful. The concept of ‘institutional capture’ that they discuss is very interesting. I hope that you find this helpful. See: https://youtu.be/0M_ZIEH0UOE?
