I again republish my two-year old article because it proved to be prescient.
I think that trans activism was designed to be a Trojan horse within LGBT community all along but only now it became glaringly obvious when all kinds of shit come from trans activism. It was always striking me as weird why trans activism was a part of LGBT movement at all when most of this movement (LGB) - was about sexuality, while trans movement - about gender identity. I mean, sexuality and gender identity are pretty different issues so why to unite them under the same umbrella to begin with?
Now I believe I got the answer why. Some rich and nefarious players needed to hijack gay rights movement from within, hence they added seemingly unrelated trans activism to it. I'm not sure what their exact purpose was - just to add some suspicious T-part to LGB movement which they could later use to some toxic purposes (like Big Pharma are using trans activism now to make billions of dollars on expensive trans medication), because gay people wouldn't be used for such shit, or was the true purpose of adding a trans part to LGB movement even more sinister and actually homophobic - to discredit the whole LGBT community by shitty actions of trans activists and hence make people hate gays again. Maybe, trans Trojan horse was added to gay rights movement for both of these purposes.
Be it as it may, it's a proven fact that trans activism is a later addition to LGB movement. When trans activists claim that they were standing at the beginning of gay rights movement, they're lying. Gay rights movement started from Stonewall riots by gay men back in 1969. Trans activists have nothing to do with Stonewall. Trans movement wasn't even a thing back then. The mere term 'transgender' was coined only in 1965 while term 'homosexuality' was used all the way from 1892.
Homosexuality itself dates back much older. Gay people were there since the dawn of time, and different ancient cultures like Ancient Greece or Ancient China had even accepted and romanticized homosexuality.
It's all not so clear with trans people. Yeah, so-called 'third sex' which included people who didn't quite fit gender binary existed in many ancient cultures as well - most notably in Hindu one. Cross-dressing is also as old as time. However, cross-dressers aren't really transgenders, and 'third sex' corresponds more to modern 'non binary' definition rather than to transgender one. There were no trans surgeries in older times either (unless we count castration lol). So transgenderism in its modern shape is pretty new thing.
In fact, all these terms - 'transgender', 'gender dysphoria', 'gender identity' - were pretty new ones and were coined in the late part of 20th century. There's not enough research even what gender dysphoria really is and how it's better be treated (not necessarily via trans surgery). The concept of 'gender identity' when people can choose their gender simply by 'identifying' with it irrespective to biological and physiological reality, is even newer and a part of 21th century Woke gender ideology.
This concept is obviously ridiculous since apparently there is an objective reality we have to deal with, and we can't just be whoever we want simply by 'identifying' with them (otherwise I would have been a dragon already lol), but alas sanity had left modern Western society (hopefully not for good).
What is my main point? To say that trans activism is pretty new one, and transgender science and ideology are pretty new ones as well. They appeared only in the second half of 20th century (when expensive trans surgeries became available, such a coincidence lol) and were added to gay rights movement to hijack it from within.
Also it was a convenient way for Big Pharma to push transgender issues into the mainstream discourse using the glory of gay rights movement. If T-part wasn't added into LGB movement, no one would probably have noticed it. So Big Pharma had pushed trans activism into the spotlight at the expense of the fame gay rights activists made to their movement. Kinda parasites. Parasiting on others' glory. Not nice.
But things are even worse. Trans activism is a true Trojan horse which hijacked LGBT movement and changed its focus from human rights to Big Pharma profits, for instance. Moreover, somehow (with a help of big money I suppose) trans activists managed to draw all attention to themselves solely, and now no one cares of gays and gay rights in the West any longer (even though homophobia isn't really gone, not even in the West, and even less so in other parts of the world).
As a side 'bonus', trans activists discredit LGBT+ community by pushing all kinds of shit - from giving hormones and surgeries to kids to pushing biological males into female sports - and the whole LGBT community takes the blame even if gays and lesbians have nothing to do with this shit. In fact, gays and lesbians suffer from trans Trojan horse themselves when gay boys are falsely told they're really 'trans' for non conforming to gender stereotypes, while lesbians are denounced as TERFs for refusing to sleep with trans 'women' with penises.
The only way out of this trap for us gay people is separate LGB community and movement from all this modern T+ shit. It's obvious for anyone in the sane mind already that modern trans activism is totally and utterly evil, that it's not about human rights of actual trans people at all but about Big Pharma profits, Woke lunacies and child grooming by some pedofiliac rich elites. So we need to withdraw our name and our support from this shit.
Let's not let trans activists abuse our name to push their sick agenda and to discredit our whole community in the public eye. Let's vote for LGB community and let's leave all toxic T+ part out. Let trans radicals shout 'Transphobia!' as loud as they can, no one cares. Let them drown in their hatred, and let's deprive their rich masters from any possibility to use our name and our movement for their dirty ends.
Alex I read a very good book on this subject recently and was wondering if you also have read it “ The Madness of Crowds” by Douglas Murray . A sensible approach to one’s sexuality without hoopla … Well written article also of yours . Very good theory too .
I think also the gay movement has been co-opted by fetishists who use it as an excuse to expose others to it because it is part of how they get off. It takes the entire movement which should be about your right to do what you want with a consenting adult behind closed doors and makes it only a flagrant display of every type of sexual fetish imaginable.
