I think that the worst thing about Wokeness - I use it as an umbrella term for this very destructive and divisive radical Left wing ideology which contains so-called 'anti-racism', intersectional feminism, trans activism, and overall political correctness and 'social justice activism', and which, initially being present mostly in academic campuses and in some radical activist communities, now is actively spreading into all major media outlets and political institutions and even entertainment in the West - is how it distorts reality, completely replacing it with their narrative. The Woke achieve it by focusing on one single issue (usually very small), magnifying it to tremendous size by the means of propaganda campaigns in all media, and ignoring everything else but this issue. Spoiler alert - if you would look only at one single issue via magnifying glass, soon enough this issue would seem to you the most important thing in the world, indeed. It's like if you came to a room full of different objects - sofa, table, shelves, lamps, etc., - but you look only at one chair here via binoculars, soon it would seem to you that there is nothing in this room, but this chair, and moreover, that it's not a chair even but a huge throne. This is what the Woke are doing to our perception of reality. They want us to see nothing but their own narrative. How do they achieve it? I will show with particular examples.
One of the most prominent examples is this year very disturbing and disgusting 'Defund the police' campaign initiated by BLM movement after George Floyd murder. This outrageous smearing campaign was probably one of the biggest disinformation campaigns of this year, not Trump election fraud claims or lockdown sceptics' claims. But ofc, the Left who ere indirectly supporting this campaign, had never denounced it as such. Yet this campaign had done irreparable damage to American police reputation (which police didn't deserve!), and this was achieved exactly by the technology I described before. BLM campaign picked up one single issue - police brutality towards Black people in their custody - and magnified it to tremendous size, ignoring everything else police was doing, from actually solving crime to brutality towards white people. So, after this toxic BLM campaign, millions of people overseas who has no clue of what's going on in US, now really think that American police does nothing but hunts and kills Black and brown people, on daily basis. Moreover, people think now that American prisons are full not of actual criminals, but of innocent (or almost innocent lol) people, most of them for some reason are again Black. This toxic and entirely false narrative was pushed down on us, and everyone who doubts it is a 'racist and white supremacist' now.
But this narrative is a blatant lie. George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor, and all other cases of police violence, are still largely an EXCEPTION, not normal behavior of the police towards prisoners. Most of the time, you know, American police doesn't treat those in its custody like that. Yeah maybe even those exceptional cases are bad enough but please don't forget that US have very high crime levels, and street crime, gang crime and drug crime are especially a problem here. Also please remember that many people can carry guns in US, unlike in other countries, and, hence, criminals can pretty easily shoot back at police if armed. Police needs to learn to be tougher if they want to do their job properly in those circumstances. All of it could perhaps at least somewhat explain to you why police in US sometimes might be more brutal than in other countries, and overstep its duties. But it's still not regular and common behavior of American police. It's exceptional cases (but thanks to BLM, millions of people now believe brutality to be regular way of police behavior in US). And most of the time, you know, American police is still looking for crime and actual criminals, not 'hunting down innocent Black people'. Yeah, there are perhaps more Black people in prisons. But you know what, according to FBI statistics, Black people commit 50% of crimes in US, being only 13% of American population. So maybe it just reflects this statistics and there is no 'systemic racism' here at play, eh?
There are other examples of distortion of reality by the Woke. Let's take JK Rowling and HP Lovecraft examples. Nothing about these authors matters for the Woke but their alleged racism and transphobia. The Woke don't care of their literary geniuses and all their achievements. They don't give a slightest shit about JK Rowling multiple charities, her feminist activities, her HP books. They don't give a shit about how HP Lovecraft have influenced horror genre and how he helped to shape the imagination of millions of readers and writers worldwide. No, all of it matters nil for the Woke. They care only of their 'racism' and 'transphobia', nothing else matters for them. And they magnify those racism and transphobia to tremendous size as well.
But in fact, racism was a very small part of HP Lovecraft's writing. In the centre of his universe were ancient gods and monsters from beyond space and time, not human beings at all. Human characters were just mere observers of cosmic drama unraveling before them. The best remembered Lovecraft characters were actually ancient gods like Ctulhu or Yog Sothoth (and they didn't have race!!), not human characters who were bleak copies of Lovecraft himself. So if anything, Lovecraftian world was centered around those gods, not around humans at all. So how dumb Woke Lefties should be to still claim that Lovecraftian writing is centered around 'white males', is beyond my comprehension. Well, I see why they are doing it - because they took their magnifying glasses to HP racism, and see nothing else but it, even if racism was small part of his writing while his unique mythology - a big part.
Similarly about JK Rowling. She had just made few remarks about trans activism, expressing some concerns about it - some of her concerns were perhaps misguided, but some - very legitimate worries - and now she is branded as 'transphobe', probably forever. So all that matters about her is her 'transphobia' now, and nothing else. First of all, it's only one small facet of her personality, but the Woke ignore everything else but it. Moreover, JK wasn't even a transphobe to begin with, in a sense of hating trans people at least. She had some concerns about trans activism. It's totally another thing. She might be misguided somewhat, she might be right somewhat, but she's not hating trans people. Yet the Woke made millions of people believe that she is, and, moreover, that it's ALL WHAT SHE IS. This is this distortion of reality in its pure shape.
Interesting enough, that both JK and HP had some redeeming circumstances in their lives which might have explained and even justified their views somewhat but the Woke mobs simply ignored them. JK had faced a serious abuse from a male, so it should be at least somewhat understandable that based on that experience she is overly cautious about male abusers possibly disguising themselves as trans people sometimes? But no, there is no redeeming circumstances for the Woke. Your personal drama matters only if you are Woke yourself.
Similarly, HP suffered from severe autism, and was dressed as a girl by his mum against his will (hello, radical trans activism - sometimes, it's not parents forcing their trans children to be cis but other way around!). It contributed to his mental health problems and him being rude and not nice to people overall. It was because he was afraid of people overall, and perhaps of people of color who were more different from his usual circle, even more. Surely it deserves some empathy? But no, the Woke mobs have no empathy - they are merciless and cruel.
My main point was to show how the Woke distort reality. They pick up one single issue, magnify it to huge extent, ignore everything else but this, and thus make people to believe it to be a 'very serious problem'. This is how they irreparably damaged the reputation of American police, creating false narrative of police being casually brutal and racist. This is how they damaged reputations of such authors as JK or HP, making them 'racist and transphobic', and nothing else but that. And now think, if the Woke were able to create a pseudo-reality with regard to such significant areas (American police) or people, what else could they do? They could make you believe everything they want by this technology. And that's indeed scary.
