Picking Up Sides is ALWAYS Wrong

It ALWAYS Leads You Straight Into Abyss of Delusion and Hate

Readers of this stack already know how much I am annoyed by people who mindlessly pick up sides say in Russia-Ukraine war but this could be extended to pretty much every other conflict and division. Picking up sides would never do you good.

When you pick up sides, you instantly divide the world into Us and Them, with Us being ‘good and holy’ while Them being ‘bad and unholy’. This inevitably skews your worldview and kills any objective and critical thinking in their very cradle. Instead, you begin to idealize ‘your side’ while demonizing ‘their side’. This process is again an inevitable consequence of this false Us vs Them dichotomy when you go out of your way to prove that your side is indeed good and just while their side - bad and unjust to justify your war against their side or your opposition to them.

As a consequence, you’d begin to ignore or even justify shortcomings and even crimes of your side while exaggerating or even inventing shortcomings and crimes of the other side (e.g., openly lying about the other side). After all, their side is anyway bad so does it matter if we’d ascribe crimes they didn’t commit to them? They committed many anyway, so does it matter? And our side is so good so should we judge them so strictly if they committed this ‘one small crime’? Why would we discredit our own side and judge it anyway when there’s other side to condemn which is so much worse? This logic is a true mind poison, and pretty deadly as such.

This toxic logic is especially obvious in American partisan politics particularly on the Woke side when Woketards blame Trump and his supporters for any innocent joke while excusing actual crimes and coup of their own DemoNratic side. That is, assassination attempt on Trump? He entirely deserved it! Media lying about Joe Biden dementia or Hunter Biden’s laptop? Oh, but we needed to defeat this ‘evil Orange Guy’ somehow anyway! And so on.

Again, if you justify an actual coup of planting a Dementia Potato into the White House and then gaslighting the public about it and even worse an actual assassination attempt on opposition Presidential candidate, then tell me please, how is your side still ‘good and holy’ while other side - ‘bad and unholy’? No way, sorry.

But this is again the trap of toxic partisan thinking when everything is justified to our side while nothing - to their side. This is the root of all evil.

It’s even more obvious in case of wars when say NAFOids justify UkroNazi and Ukrainian war crimes while Putinoids - Putin’s invasion and Putin’s war crimes. Or in case of Gaza war when Woke Palestinian supporters justify HAMAS terror while Israeli supporters - all IDF actions in Gaza including actual killings of Gaza civilians. This ALL is a toxic consequence of picking up sides and dividing the world into Us and Them.

Another big problem with picking up sides is that it blinds those who do it to the possibility of the whole conflict being a sham one with both sides lying about it and simply playing their roles in a shadow play staged by our rulers. This is what I believe of Ukrainian war for example - that it was 100% WEF staged and both Putin and ZelenSSKy are WEF puppets and frauds and traitors to and butchers of their people. This entire war then is just a bloody circus for money-laundering purposes and also to sow more chaos and division, fear and panic in the world. But go try explaining this to both NAFOIds or Putinoids and you’d be immediately accused of ‘shilling for the other side’ because in their simplistic black-and-white worldview of ‘sides’ any nuanced and objective approach simply doesn’t exist. If you’re not taking their side, you’re with the other side, no third option. If you critisize their side, you’re also shilling for the other side. If you aren’t with us, you’re an enemy. A classic fascist approach by the way.

In addition to being downright fascist, ‘picking up sides’ partisan mentality is very immature, childish, infantile, degrading and puerile. It’s mentality of a teen boy who had read too much of Marvel comic strips. But adults aren’t teen boys though. Or are they? Looking at majority of American adults picking up sides in all kinds of conflicts, real and staged, I begin to wonder.

Again, Us vs Them partisan mentality is also very dangerous. It takes all the nuance and all the objectivity out of the equation and leaves only one solution in the end - violence, elimination of the other side. And that’s a straight road to genocide already.

You might think that it’s nothing wrong if you just support Russia or Ukraine without going crazy about it. The problem is that you might not even notice how you’re going crazy about it - that’s the evil power of divisive war propaganda. For example, if you can’t take any fact-based critics of your side while see a huge problem with acknowledging valid points of the other side, you’re already in a big trouble. Your worldview is already skewed and you’re not living in an objective reality anymore but in a delusional world created by propaganda machine.

So perhaps now you understand why picking up sides is so dangerous and wrong and why it always skews your worldview and leads you straight into delusion and hate when you might end up justifying crimes and genocide cheering for your good side against their bad side.
